"Supervision is the formal arrangement that enables an SLT or assistant practitioner to discuss their work regularly with someone who is experienced and qualified. It's an essential component of a good quality speech and language therapy service that is able to respond to service users, identify and manage risk."
RCSLT 2017
My Approach:
I provide a safe and confidential space for you to reflect on your clinical practice. You may wish to talk through a specific case or issue, ideas for service development or recent research/training and its application to your practice.
Self-reflection is at the heart of developing clinical expertise. My skills as a supervisor do not lie in providing all the answers but in asking the questions that will facilitate your own problem-solving.
I provide one to one, paired or group supervision. I can travel to you, we can arrange to book a meeting room in a mutually convenient location or we can use video call.
I ensure that I receive regular supervision myself in relation to clinical practice and supervision practice, which is in line with the RCSLT supervision policy (2017).
N.B I do not provide supervision for adult services or dysphagia.
